The Best Order For Your Holiday Beauty Prep

When going on holiday, most of us want to look and feel our best, meaning there's a last minute dash to get all our beauty treatments in. A chipped pedicure by the pool is not a great look. But there are certain things you shouldn't done before the other as you will risk ruining the time and money spent on the first treatment. To help you get your appointments booked in the right order, here's our breakdown of when we would advise penciling in your trips to the salon...

1. Cut And Colour

You want your hair to have time to rest after having any colour done so it's best to get this booked for at least a week before a beach holiday. It takes approx. 48hrs for the cuticle to close and smooth down, meaning your hair is very susceptible to colour fade in those initial 48hrs. If you sit out in the sun the day after any colour treatment there's a high chance your colour will fade and you'll have wasted your money getting the perfect colour shade to suit your holiday look.

2. Tinting

If you plan to get your eyebrows or lashes tinted then this needs to be done a few days before you jet off. This gives any excess dye the chance to settle and fade slightly before you start posing for any holiday snaps. Unless a super strong brow is the holiday look you're going for?

3.  Waxing

For super smooth legs and bikini lines, waxing is a popular way to go as it saves regular shaving on holiday. If you're planning a spray tan too, wax two days before you go on holiday, and get your spray tan the day before you go. If you wax soon after a spray tan this can remove the tan and leave you with not so stylish streaky patches. If you're not intending on getting a spray tan then leave 24 hours before you go away to get any waxing done, especially if you're on a long flight and have a bikini wax booked in. Sitting down for this extended period could cause rather a lot of discomfort.

4. Manicure & Pedicure

This should be the final thing booked in for your holiday beauty as it means there is the least likelihood of it chipping before you go, and your hands and feet will be super smooth. Perfect for slipping into summer sandals.
